I have always been a fan of Oatmeal Cookies. Not because they’re healthy, but because I love oatmeal. In fact, throw some raisins into oatmeal cookies and call them one of my favorites! These Iced Oatmeal Cookies aren’t those super soft and chewy cookies like the Oatmeal Raisin. These are like those iced cookies you see at the grocery store next to the Little Debbies or the check out line. Once in a great while when I was growing up, I’d get one of those as a treat. I’d save them though until I got home to throw in the microwave to heat up and have with a cold glass of milk. Seriously, milk and cookies are meant for each other. You know like salt and pepper, Ricky and Lucy, Batman and Robin, peanut butter and jelly, Mario and Luigi, Marco and Polo… you get the idea right?
Oatmeal also has its health benefits and just happens to be one of the top seven heart-healthy foods to eat. If you haven’t been eating oatmeal lately, I bet you will now Image may be NSFW.

Decrease your “bad” cholesterol and your total cholesterol
Enhance immune response to infections
Stabilize blood sugar
Oats as well as other whole grains can substantially lower the risk for Type 2 Diabetes
Unique oat antioxidants reduce risks for cardiovascular disease.
I mean that’s a win-win situation isn’t it if you eat your oats?!
So while you’re trying to eat healthy, don’t be afraid to eat a little treat either. We all have to treat ourselves to something yummy once in awhile {shhh, don’t tell… I treat myself more than just once in awhile Image may be NSFW.

You know how I told you these are like those store bought cookies you find at the check out line… well these are much better and you can shape them into whatever you want to! Score! There’s just one extra step that you have to take and I mean it’s not that hard anyways.. you simply have to dump the dough out onto a floured surface and roll the dough out. Simple. Cut into any shape you’d like, dust off the flour and bake. No matter what the shape, they still taste amazing and actually even better than those store boughts!

I’m not going to lie to you, it was a challenge… to make sure I didn’t eat all the dough before I got the cookies in the oven that is!

The dough was fantastic and I was able to get “some” cookies baked off… seriously… just some LOL. I loved how these tasted as soon as they came out of the oven also. Soft and hot. They don’t even need to be frosted.
